Karen Vogel offers her personal interpretation of the Motherpeace Round Tarot deck. An indispensable guidebook for anyone interested in earth-based culture or women's spirituality.128 pp., bandw illus., pb.
This is a very welcome approach to Tarot oriented towards women. It is as if you were receiving blessings from your grandmother. I bought it with the travel size cards. It's a good addition to any Tarot collection.
useful and compact

Round tarot cards can challenge the reader--this book can guide the reader in her interpretation of the many possible positions of the Motherpeace cards. Vogel gives a general description of each card, then a brief discussion of its meaning when upright, tilted left or right, and reversed. The book does not go into as much depth as Vicki Noble's books about Motherpeace cards, but this can be an advantage if you're doing readings and want to get straight to the point. It also features a black and white reproduction of each card along with the interpretation, which is helpful if you're just reading the book and not your cards.I wouldn't recommend this as your only Motherpeace book, but it is very practical as a basic tool for readings. It gives much more information than the booklet in the box of cards, but doesn't overwhelm you when you just want to know what the five of Swords means when you draw it tilted left.
