More Classics of the Horror Film

Back in 1975 author Everson released "Classics of the Horror Film"--a great book highlighting well-known (and unknown) horror film classics from the 1920s to the 1940s. It ended with a scathing review of "The Exorcist". This book was a sequel to it and published 11 years later in 1986. Once again author Everson shows us more unknown classics from the 30s and 40s but also throws in later films from the 1950s on up. As with the first it is well-written although I STRONGLY disagree with some of his reviews. "Audrey Rose" is a classic? "Ghost Story"?? The horrendous remake of "Cat People"??? I realize everybody's entitled to their opinion but come ON! That aside the book is informative and full ot stories that I've previously never have heard of (and I'm a horror film buff). Also it's chockful of some GREAT pictures from old and new (well...up to 1985) horror films. These are pics I've never seen before and are lots of fun. My only complaints--he keeps dragging in pics that are marginal horror films at best (lots of mysteries). Still that's a small price to pay for everything else. Well worth getting.
