Rosie and Prunella cannot agree on how to celebrate Valentine's Day because Rosie is a friendly monster and Prunella is a mean monster. The humorous sequel to Monster Manners and Monster Movie. Full... This description may be from another edition of this product.
My daughter picked up a copy of this at the book exchange when she was about 5. She is now almost 16 and we have a cat named Valentine who likes to play Monster-Under-the-Bed (beware of claws) which got us thinking back to this book. We remember it very fondly, the unnaturally nice monster, who wanted to make sweet valentines and her friend, the naturally nasty monster, who tried to get into the spirit and make valentines with her friend, but delighted in horrible, smelly, and mean valentines. The friends learn to better understand each other and what the shared activity means to the other, learning as well what friendship is all about. It's not classic literature, but it is a charming, endearing tale to share with a beloved child. I'm sorry that it seems to be out of print.
