Monkey High! Volume 01: Contains Chapters 01 - 03

I loved this book and feel that it is a very promising series with a lot of fun and interesting characters that keep you entertained. The story is also really well told and entertaining. In this volume we get introduced to several characters, they go on a school trip and in the last chapter there is a Christmas Party. I am looking forward to reading the next book!

A Story You Can't Put Down!

Okay, this was the first shoujo manga I had ever fully completed. And can I just say, it was adorable. and hilarious. and fun. and heart warming. an- Alright! you get what I mean. It was truly interesting. I honestly don't have a problem with it...Well, maybe 2 small problems that aren't that bad. 1. Kobuhei (The Heavy-set friend of the group) and Masaru (The main boy protag who looks like an adorable baby monkey) get teased hell of a lot of times. To the point of bullying to be honest. But its supposed to be comical so it's not that serious. 2. Due to different personalities and misunderstandings, Haruna (The main girl protag) and Masaru literally get in a fight (what seems like) everyday. But thankfully, towards the end, it stops. That's really it. Overall, if you're a pre-teen or teen (hell, even an Adult!) who's just getting into Shoujo or even a long time Shoujo fan who loves lots of comedy and hell a lot of drama, Monkey High! is definitely for you!

lovable

I don't read shojo manga. I've been picking up samples of Viz's Shojo Beat manga at Comic-Con since they started putting out the sampler and nothing ever caught my eye until this year. For me Monkey High isn't like any other shojo manga I've ever seen. All the other shojo manga had ridiculous premises that the reader was just supposed to believe could happen in real life. If we're going to go with something far-fetched, you might as well throw magic or an alternate dimension in. Or I just couldn't relate to the characters, and who wants to read a manga where you can't relate to the characters? What I love about Monkey High is that it has that sense of realism to it, and the characters are lovable. With great artwork and good pacing, it all just falls into place.

Monkey High, vol 1 review!

This is a cute story about a girl who transfers to another school because of a family "scandal". Here she sees the other students as monkeys, and the fun starts from here. Read about her way to get accepted and make new friends, even a new boyfriend.
