Good book that reads like a movie.

I found Mona Lisa Smile to be on the whole a good book. The story line draws you in and the resolution is satisfying. I have not yet seen the movie(though i do plan to), but it does not seem that the book gives you much more than the movie does. I felt that the language in general could be fleshed out to be a little more descriptive and that the sub plots could have been fleshed out some to give it a little more depth. I would highly reccomend the book to anyone looking for a quick, satisfying read but don't expect great literature out of this one.

All Hail the return of Deborah Chiel

Deborah Chiel is back! Yay! Deborah is a fine author who has elevated the job of the novelization to a fine art. Her previous books have often accomplished the same task that she expertly accomplishes here with Mona Lisa's Smile. Namely taking a sucky stupid sappy movie (a D says Entertainment Weekly) and making a swell enjoyable moving novel out of it. She gives Mona Lisa's Smile the same expert treatment she gave Great Expectations, Sabrina, and other sucky films. You will enjoy Mona Lisa's Smile!
