Wonderfully funny book

Nancy Goldstone has a fabulous writing style and sense of timing. This book is funny, warm, and a great read. And I've read it many times. Consider that I say this as the owner of about 2,000 books. I love Ms. Goldstone's use of language and her tone. Elizabeth (the mom) and Emily (the daughter) are charming and enjoyable. I just wish there were more 'Mommy and the...' books!

One of my favorites

I have a special section in my 30 large bookcases for Nancy Goldstone and her books. I love this book as well as the first in the series, "Mommy and the Murder". I don't understand why there aren't more in the series. I'm a huge fan of Janet Evanovich and Marian Keyes, and Ms. Goldstone's writing style is very similar to theirs. The characters are enjoyable, the writing style smooth and fun, and the subtle humor is right on.

Mommy and the Money

I really enjoyed Mommy and the Money. It has good flow and is never boring. The character developement is excellent, you feel as if you are Elizabeth's(the main character) confidant during the narration of the story. The supporting characters are given in such a manner that you believe you have met these very people at sometime in your life. While the dialog does not require one to perform mental gymnastics, it does not insult one's intellegence either. This is a true "cozy", only missing the obligatory cat. The ending is very surprising, but not out of the boundaries of the story line. I would definately recommend this book and the would recommend reading the previous book "Mommy and the Murder" as well.

fast-paced and funny

I really enjoyed this book and look forward to reading more of Goldstone's work. It is amusing and fast-paced. I don't understand why some people are so upset by it...it is FICTION! It is not supposed to be taken seriously! I finished this book within days. It is very entertaining.

Mommy and the Murder by Nancy Goldstone

I couldn't understand the other bad reviews! I thoroughly enjoyed this book. It was funny and the action was fast enough to keep me interested. I am going to read her sequels. Try it for yourself!
