This is a beautiful book with many great ideas for creative Mexican cooking. There is not a typical enchilada or burrito recipe in the book, and the photography is wonderful.

It is an incredible achievement to tame and refine these ingredients, to create dishes that reveal contrast and balance, while preserving the essence of Mexican folklore. The Mexico of these days is vibrant and cosmopolitan but has deep roots of tradition. Mr. Sandoval?s cuisine is a great representation of this era.
