Author's statement

The first printing of this book had two covers: hardcover and paperback. It has not been edited since The Society for the Advancement of Modeling and Role-Modeling ([SAMRM])determined that this book is a classic, and should remain as it is. It was first written in 1983 and has been reprinted 8 times since, most recently in 2005.It is widely used in health care and nursing education. A follow-up book entitled, Modeling and Role-Modeling: A View From the Client's World was published in 2006 with the aim of taking readers to a deeper level of understanding of mind, body and spirit integration and to provide more detailed application guidelines.

Modeling and Role-Modeling Theory of Nursing

This book is essential for anybody interested in learning about the nursing theory, Modeling and Role-Modeling. The content includes rationale for the theory, the underlying assumptions and conceptual bases for the theory, and guidelines for applying the theory. While the original printing was in 1985 and additional research and applications have further developed various parts of the theory, the basic elements of the theory have not changed since its inception. Because this theory is applicable across settings and client populations, it is highly recommended!

Modeling and Role-modeling is available

I believe that this book is the same as Modeling and Role-modeling: A Theory and Paradigm for Nursing by Erickson, Tomlin and Swain. Please see my review of that book for details.
