Render unto Caesar that wich is Caesar's

I must be fair. My first review of this book (now deleted)was written from the frustration. I had enjoyed so much The Expert Encyclopedia of Recording that, when I found this one, I didn't mind the absence of the Search Inside option. I just knew this had to be a great book. When I received my copy, I was dissapointed, not by the book being bad, which isn't, but for not have had enough information about it, as to know it actually was an updated edition of the one I already owned, with different title and cover art. The one-star rating should have been directed to the publisher (and the damage he was doing to the book), not to the content itself. Having said that, I've read many books devoted to mixing and recording, and this one is among the best; enthusiastic and instructive as few others, well structured and covering almost everything you need to know. I repeat: if you don't own The Expert Encyclopedia, don't waste a minute and get this one. In my case, I'll use it as a gift to a good friend and I know he'll appreciate it. Most important of all, the author has shown me he is a very nice person, passionate about his work and concerned about his readers. I'd say he's even better than his book. He deserved this review.

A treasure for anybody involved in the art of recording music

Rick Clark's book is a treasure for anybody involved in the art of recording music. this book is full of rare, first-hand information by some of today's top engineers and producers. I wished the foreword (and it's a long foreword) would have gone on and on. If you've lost your belief in rock'n roll, Rick's foreword will make you a believer again. Rick Clark's knowledge about every aspect of making muic is vast, his passion for music and its makers is obvious. I've been recording, playing and producing music for a long time and learned a lot from this book. I go back to it frequently for inspiration and resources.
