Miss Julia Delivers the Goods

I never miss the latest in Ann B. Ross' Miss Julia series. The latest "Miss Julia Delivers the Goods" really does deliver. Miss Julia, Sam, Lillian, Hazel Marie, and Mr. Pickens all figure in this latest entry of the Miss Julia series. The novel starts out with Hazel Marie being taken to the hospital and I was certain that the story would end up unhappily. But as Shakespeare says "alls well that ends well" and Miss Julia and the cast of characters in the story assure a very happy ending. There is a mystery that evolves with Sam's book on small town life and Miss Julia and Mr. Pickens work to solve the mystery of who wants Sam's book to remain unpublished. I highly recommend this latest in the Miss Julia series as well as all ten in the series. I love them!

Again, this book was an excellent read. Miss Julia is up to some of her old tricks, but she is definitely softening up since she has found Sam. I am always saddened when I come to the end and realize I have to wait another year to see what Miss Julia's antics will be next. I would recommend this book to those who like a light-hearted read.

Small-town life can be comforting, but it can also be unkind, as Miss Julia and Hazel Marie know. When Hazel Marie has an unexpected and initially unwelcome pregnancy, the Springer-Murdoch household is abuzz trying to keep secrets while taking care of her. Soon the web of deceptions is almost more than Miss Julia and her cohorts can handle...and that's just the beginning! Ann B. Ross has once again woven a story full of humanity and self-imposed laughable situations created by the rich cast of characters we've grown to love. Just as always, we do not welcome the end of the book, and can't wait for the next! What a fun read.

The Miss Julia books provide enjoyable reading material, and this book carries on that fine tradition. There are times when I can't help but to laugh aloud. If you want to escape into a neighborhood where the characters are worth knowing and fun to be with, you'll enjoy this book.
