From Introduction: "The skin ..has an elastic quality, and it is the condition of the muscles beneath it that helps determine the tonus condition of the skin. A firm face is a symbol of youth, but a firm face need not be the property solely of the young. If muscles of the body can be brought back to tone -- and they can be -- so can muscles of the face, and by the same means: exercise. The 30 exercises that make up my face-saving program are based on using muscles the way nature intended they be used in order to counterbalance the aging effects of gravity - which is constantly pulling facial muscles downward - and also to counterbalance 'set expression' patterns which weaken facial muscles. Th expression muscles of the face, of which there are 26, are known anatomically as voluntary muscles - voluntary muscles being those under the control of one's will. I have presented, along with each exercise, the anatomical explanation, location and function of each of the 26 voluntary facial muscles you will be using."

A super face exercise book

This book has diagrams of the facial muscles, showing you exactly what you are working on and it has Marjorie Craig demonstrating the exercises themselves. There is almost no way you can go wrong - the main difficulty is doing them slowly, so they have the most effect. It all seems deceptively simple - but the exercises are good and they do work. I have had this book for years. I have also read many other facial exercise books over the years and I have never found a more thorough one, or a more effective one.

A very thorough workout!

It was difficult to imagine but one can work out the muscles in your face and 'feel the burn' while doing so. This is an excellent alternative to costly -- and potentially dangerous -- surgical face-lifts. It can be done daily, in the privacy of your home, and be thought of as part of one's daily exercise routines.

Refreshing

This is a very good book. I've owned it for years and keep going back to it. It has humour and helpful step by step instructions. And my face feels sooo good after a session.
