Dr. Mumford's Mind Magic Kit is a very valuable tool for inner exploration, personal growth and relaxation. It enables virtually anyone to experience the benefits of biofeedback at minimal cost and on their own time. I am a Wicca initiated Priest, a Tantra initiate and have studied various Yoga and Magical modalities (and continue to do so). The Mind Magic Kit is not an ordinary book. It is, rather, a tool kit, a rather special tool kit, at that, offering assitance to any novice wishing he/she knew how to begin learning to relax for self healing and stress relief. Even more than that, this wonderful little kit is chock full of practical technique for movement on the path toward self mastery. If one is already tuned up in these ways and already knows something about relaxation and so on, then this kit provides a sophisticated opportunity to go deeper, even much deeper. Inside the box, I found a small book + audio tape. Without having to involve myself with the book, the audio tape was ready for me to use. I could use it right away. The tape is made in such a way, that even though I hadn't yet gotten around to the book, I could still get meaninful benefits RIGHT AWAY. Personally, I have valued this. In my busy, busy world, immediate access means alot. The book itself is a teaching tool. I can work with it as I desire, and it helps me to know more of what I am doing with the tape. As with all of Dr. Mumford's work, the material in his book is "ordinary" -- by this, I mean, framed in a way that is easy to grasp and utilize. I love this quality! I know that there are plenty of other practices for self-healing and relaxation on the market. The outstanding quality I have found with Dr. Mumford's work here is that this kit offers me not only a guided path with his own wonderful voice to keep me on track, but a way to learn something very valuable that I can do FOR MYSELF. The teaching offers to sponsor me into independence, as much as I want to have it. The Mind Magic kit is offered in a format that does not just "give me a fish" -- rather as it gives me the fish, it offers me the opportunity, through the teaching, to learn how to catch one myself! I like this a great deal and appreciate the style Dr. Mumford offers toward self-empowerment. If you are looking for something that works, I recommend Mind Magic. Dr. Jonn Mumford's Mind Magic Kit contains a short book and audio tape with two guided practices, one on each side. Although the book itself does not compare to some of his other works, the tape is extremely valuable. It guides the listener through two meditative practices that very effectively lead to deep states of relaxation. One side has a kind of shavasana (corpse position) practice in which each portion of the body is relaxed. This leads to a deep state in which the entire mind/body system can be refreshed. The other side has a biofeedback practice that is remarkable in its ability to access a very useful deep relaxed state in about 25 minutes. Anyone who can appreciate the value of learning how to disconnect from stress and tension, whether physical or in the mind, should seriously consider this kit. My only reservation would be for those who already know how to do these practices, which in fact, are not unique to Dr. Mumford, just extremely valuable and effective.

I have just begun this kit a couple of weeks ago and it has been a great help for me personaly, it will obviously not necessarily be great for everyone, but if your interested in meditation and self hypnosis then this book will hopefully help you. The reviewer that said Mumford was a good con man is completely mistaken in my oppinion and I wonder if he even took the time to try it. This kit says what its for and has the techniques to get the desired results. If you have Deppression or anxiety, you should give it a go and see for yourself. Another book that is great is Prometheus Rising by Robert Anton Wilson if your interested in bettering yourself.
