you own at least three of Denise Duhamel's collections! No words can really describe the ride through this book--the swings, the cobblestones, the banana peels where you least expect them. In fact, I'd change my headline to "Don't tell me you love life unless... This book is full of the intimate delicious Duhamel at her best.

Denise Duhamel's Mille et Un Sentiments is a fantastically entertaining read on the airplane, in the subway, or wherever you feel the need to escape into her whimsical collection of utterances. This long list poem is hilarious, moving, shocking in turn - Duhamels' sometimes playful, sometimes intimate list thrills and delights. Imagistic flashes ("510. I feel the slippery cards in a tarot deck-my whole reading is sky blue, completely blank.") vie with outrageous confessions, and self-awareness flirts with self-mockery - like the tabloid-speak of "86. I feel my publicist doesn't really want you to know the real me." This slim collection is a great introduction to Duhamel's work and a must for fans.
