Miggy and Tiggy from Building Christiain Character series
Published by Thriftbooks.com User , 14 years ago
Each book of The Christian Character series encompasses a specific topic. Some of them are: Thankfulness, Obedience, Showing love, Forgiveness, Fairness, Helpfulness. This one focuses on jealousy and how to overcome it. The books in this series are done in rhyme and have a smooth, easy flow to them that keep the child interested; as well as an abundance of cute, applicable illustrations that convey feeling and emotion. At the end of each story is an applicable Bible verse. My 4 children all loved these books and we read them over and over. I think they really do teach a lesson in a way that the child can identify with. Each child has had all of these conflicts and emotions and can see him/herself in the situation. The books show wonderful conflict resolution. In this book, Miggy had a cat but he was jealous of Tiggy because he had a dog. Miggy is fit to be tied that Tiggy rubs it in his face and so he devises a plot to get back at Tiggy..."The more Miggy watched Tiggy's puppy, the more and more angry he grew. At nighttime he lay awake thinking of mean things he wanted to do. There were hundreds of things Miggy thought of, all of them nasty and mean. But suddenly one idea hit him...A trick that was clever and keen!" In the process, both the dog and cat get lost, so each boy goes to the pound and get the other another, then go home to find their lost dog and cat napping in the shade, so they each end up with a dog and a cat! Highy recommend for kids up to about age 8.
