Midnight Peaches

Midnight Peaches is a wonderful escape to a small Texas town coping with some big town issues-- from disrupted marriages to health problems to backroom drug labs. There's also a little courtin' and sparkin' going on at The Farm. Ms. Litman handles them all with gentle humor and buttery southern dialog that rolls off the tongue like a peach julep.

Readers of Litman's previous novels will enjoy this return trip to Sydonia, Texas, and the Ladies Farm, but the skies are not so sunny this time around. Starting with a hail storm that destroys the peach crop, and ending in a glorious train-wreck of a climax, Litman combines agricultural experimentation, a down-and-dirty get-rich-quick scheme, a cross dressing ex-husband, a hunky ex-boyfriend, and a footrace to end all footraces in this funny, quirky, ultimately satisfying exploration of love and self-discovery. I highly recommend it.
