Trusted the unconscious

Carl Whitaker was the most gifted family therapist of all time. What differentiated his work most from that of other family therapists was the extent to which he trusted what would come up in his unconscious when he was engaged with a family. This memoir of sorts is filled with hard-won wisdom (not just information) about what it really means to be a therapist. Any therapist, whether working with families or individual patients, can learn a great deal from Whitaker. And, if they ever have a chance to see a video of him actually working with a family, they will really have a treat.
