Excellent book for learning to find your way around Microsoft Office programs. I would have given it five stars, but a few of the directions for the learning exercises were incomplete (missing a step or two) or, in the case of one Excel example, incorrect. The menus for weather chart axes menu did not match the choices pulled up in the 2007 program. To date, I've yet to figure out how to get my "weather chart" right!

I have never used a manual on Microsoft Office. I've always learned new material by exploring on the computer. I think this book would be ideal for someone who has no familiarity with the Microsoft Office programs. It has lots of illustration and includes a disk. This one is taylored for 2007 which is good, because the two programs do look differently. If you are, however, pretty comfortable using Office, you really won't beneftit much from the book. Perhaps the title should include: for Beginners
For those not in the know

This is a well-written book on Microsoft Office, but if you are able to learn a software program (or even know what one is) on your own then you probably don't need this book. Flipping through it I do not venture to say it teaches me much beyond the basic of Microsoft Office. But if you are brand new to all this technology stuff it is well written and a good choice.
