Microsoft Office Word 2007 Plain & Simple (Plain & Simple Series)

I was happy to find this out of print book to help a computer challenged friend learn Word 2002. The seller was very quick with delivery. In all a great transaction.

I think that some people will argue that this book is not substantive enough to fill their needs as an "experienced user" (whatever that means). Thhe truth is that this book serves the purpose of helping the reader to get work done in an efficient and understandable way. Getting work done is the main purpose of this book. This book has been very useful as the transition to Word 2007 was undertaken. The folks at Microsoft took what many of us have used for 20+ years and shuffled all the commands around in almost random directions. Thus trying to print an envelope was a task, as was formatting numbering on section heads. Very helpful book with all color pages which really makes reviewing items easier.

I just took a job where I need to know Word and Excel backward and forwards. I thought I knew Word before but quickly found out it could do a lot more than I'd ever dreamed and I needed a good reference. I choose these books (I puchased the companion Excel 2002 book also) for both the color diagrams, examples and clear, non-confusing way it is written.
