Microsoft ASP.Net 2.0 Step by Step [With CDROM]

Once again, you guys have impressed me with your service. I just wished I would have used you guys a lot sooner in my educational career.

The book contains many descriptions about the new ASP.NET 2.0 and compares to older versions of asp.net and asp. It describes everything step by step so that it is easy to follow examples and learn ASP.NET 2.0 framework. It is great for begginers and intermediate users.

This is a very good book to get the overview of ASP.NET 2.0. Start here and stop at the horizon!

I have read some reviews here and found them a little harsh. I can understand them feeling bad because they really intended it to be beginner's book, showing everything step-by-step. Unfortunately this is not the case, but I wish the the title was different not the content. The contents are well written, but not exactly for somebody entirely new to ASP.NET. I would give in between 3.5 to 4 stars.

This is a great book for learning ASP.NET 2.0. Each chapter starts with a short explanation of the theory, continues with a step by step practical example and ends with a quick reference. Even though it is easy to follow, it covers advanced features (compilation model, custom handlers and modules). You can read this book whether or not you have experience with ASP.NET: about half of the content is ASP.NET 2.0 specific (master pages, web parts, login controls, etc). Of course, the learning curve will be steeper if you don't know ASP.NET to begin with. After reading this book and completing the step by step examples, you will be very comfortable with ASP.NET 2.0
