The book I read about Mexico. The book told about many things from Mexico's history to it economic system. I thought that this book was very interesting. From this book I learned about how the Mayan and Aztec Indians lived many years ago. These were two of the major tribe thousands of years ago and they believed in many gods. In many ocaions they would sacrafice people (victem were usually prisoners that have been captured) to these gods. I also read about how Spanish conquistdors came to Mexico and took the land from the Aztecs. Mexico was refured to by the Aztecs as the shaking land because it was hit by many major earthquakes that shook the country. Mexicans have many types of fiestas for they're many different holiday. One of them that I read about was 'Day of the Dead' where the people celebrate their dead anstors. They go to the graves and light candles and bring food. Between the years of 1940 and 1970 the population of Mexico increased from 1.1 percent to 3.5 percent. In the book the author Jack Rummel predicts the Mexico's population will be about 110 million people by the year 2000. I think that this book was very interesting. I would recommend this book to anyone who wants to learn anything about Mexico or the country's history.
