Wonderful Second Installment!

Finally got around to getting this thing, and I loved it. I read it in one sitting.

A worthy sequel to Flatlands

Susan Sims Moody's second novel, which is about to be released, continues the adventures of Jennifer Martin and Davis Sanford, but this time the principal character is Davis. Throughout the well developed plot that ranges from crime to devotion, the highly individuated characters are fully and memorably drawn and motivated with a plausibility that has the ring of truth. The small town and its environs are skillfully depicted, its residents' secrets and eccentricities revealed with a care that is at once a tribute to the venerable tradition of serious southern fiction and a further flowering of that heritage. A third novel in the series is now in process, and it promises to continue to heighten the excitement and interest of its predecessor works.
