Best book on composers' lives

This has been my favorite books on composers for 35 years. Have never found anything close to it for readability and appeal. It cuts through the usual dry facts and gives the reader facts about the REAL men, their faults, strengths, loves, hates, idiosyncrasies, and normalities. Fascinating anecdotes. You won't be able to put it down, as they say. Highly recommended.
