Mealtime (First Words)

ISBN 0752554883 - Board books aimed not just at beginning readers, but beginning speakers, are great! An introduction to basic, everyday words and to books - what could be better? Each set of facing pages features a drawing and the matching word on a brightly colored background (no two backgrounds the same color!). The words are the names of simple things your child will encounter at mealtime. Thick pages, easy for small fingers to turn without tearing. The images are nice and clear, basic drawings without too much specific detail - a good thing. The only image that struck me as odd was the egg drawing, oddly the one they put on the cover. This looks like no egg my child ever saw (as a toddler, anyway) and is a bit unappetizing-looking. - AnnaLovesBooks
