Maybe He's Dead: And Other Hilarious Results of New York Magazine Competitions

"Maybe He's Dead" is one of the most hilarious things I have ever seen. I picked it up years ago at a time when I was reading New York Magazine regularly, and enjoying the game that the magazine was then running near (or at) the last page of the mag. The magazine pieces made me laugh out loud; after I picked up the book, I found myself unable to speak when I tried to read certain items to my wife, family and friends. My copy too is also quite worn from repeated readings, but it is one I treasure enormously. If this is available and you want a good laugh, I recommend it VERY HIGHLY!

This compilation is truly one of kind. VERY clever contests and a lot of VERY clever people whose entries got picked. Highly recommended.

This is a great book - a favorite of mine that still makes me laugh some 20 years later. Perfect for anyone who has stuck their foot in their mouth or thought of the perfect retort 3 hours after the fact.The title comes from the first collection in the book, titled (if I remember correctly) What I Should Have Said/What I Said:What I should have said: "I'm sure he's just stuck in traffic or got behind a slow driver".What I said: "Maybe he's dead."I wish I could find all of these books!
