Mathematics Today: Twelve Informal Essays

I bought this item used. First i got to say the condition was wery good, just a bit weared on the cover. I don know how famous this book is but surely not as it should be. The Penrose essay "Geometry of the Universe" is truly a master (little) piece. As its says in the preface: "the objective of the present book of essays is to convey to the intelligent nonmathematician something of the nature, development, and use of mathematical concepts, particulary those that have found application in current scientific research".
