As a student, I tolerated those college books that cost 60.00 to 80.00 dollars and were barely understandable for students. Then, I discovered this book. You will learn C programming in the first 400 pages of the book. The next 500 teaches you C++ (and why it's an improvement of ANSI C) as well as DOS and Windows Programming. The 300+ pages after that are a listing of Borland C++ functions. This is the book that explains it all... clearly, simply, and completely.
A good book for both beginning and experienced programmers.

I live in Alaska, and our bookstore doesn't have many good books. I had to special order this one when I bought my BC++ v4.5 CD over the net. I had never programmed in C or C++ before. It got me up and programming quick and painlessly. It's great for beginning C/C++ programmers. The thorough explanations are easy to understand and have plenty of examples. It's also a good reference for the BC++ compiler and Integrated Developing Environment (IDE). All sorts of goodies in here. I should know, I've read mine twice. -Greg Aldrich, Ketchikan Alaska
