However, To actually build a masonry house, it is necessary to have some hands on experience. An actual masonry course, would be inorder. In other words, as a reference for a masonry student, this is great, but it can not replace or modify the need to experience mixing mortar and squaring block. The author's other book on detailing masonry is also good, and is highly recommended.
