Fiona is a London costume designer for an opera company and is planning a nice little holiday at her parents' home in Scotland. After a successful Strauss production, she needs a little rest. Her uncle contacts her and asks her to take the car he had to leave in London and drive it to Scotland for him, since she's planning on heading that way anyway. She agrees and on the way comes across an accident. An older man has had a heart attack and caused another car to go off the road. She stops to help. From that moment on, Fiona becomes involved in quite a tangled series of events involving espionage, treason and murder. I felt the story was well-paced and quite riveting. The heroine was intelligent, the hero appealing and the villians are clever. It makes for a good read.
