Great!

Mary Anne's friend died in a car crash. Mary anne's thing is always cry and cry. I didsn't cry in this book. I'm a lot like Kristy, she's tough, i'm tough.

A Great Book, very realistic and very Sad

I cryed when i read this book because it was so sad. In this book Mary Annes friend was killed in a car crash and Mary Anne who is already very sensitive struggles to cope with her grief. I thought that the book was very realistic. Some of the babysitter were not sad because they didnt know Amelia. Even though everyone should be sad about an event like this that is not how it always goes. Recently a boy in my school killed himself and i heard many people in the halls saying that they werent sad because they didnt know him. I didnt know him but i was sad. I would recomend this book to all BSC readers. Just make sure you have a box of tissues near by when reading

One of the Saddest books I ever read

This book is about when Mary Anne and her English group work on a project. So then everybody thinks of a good idea to write an old-fashioned newspaper from Shakespeare's time. A girl in Mary Anne's group named Amelia Freeman told everybody she was going out to eat with her mother, father, and brother. She said she knew this project would be an easy A+. She told them how she wished she could bring them along. The next day it was announced that Amelia had been killed in a car accident. Luckilly, the rest of her family was in the hospital and would be fine. Mary Anne was so upset that she needed to talk to a Psycayatrist. But what she told the Psychiatrist made me think. This is what she said, "As she was about to go home she said she wanted to bring us along. So if I was in her car then, I might have been dead now if I were with her." I recomend this book for people who just lost a loved one.

Excellent portrayal of grief

Oh, poor Mary Anne! I felt so sorry for her in the book when her friend was killed so horribly. Sensitive Mary Anne's agony is real, as is her struggle to cope with grief. She's had so much loss and grief in her life, yet it's so encouraging the way she overcomes her pain. I love how Mary Anne showed wisdom in her decision to see Dr. Reese to talk over her feelings and it was good to see her have a good cry. It illustrates that grief is not easily overcome. Mary Anne is one strong, tough girl, maybe more so because so so sensitive. Also touching was her concern for Amelia's family and other friends and how she reached out to them even when she herself was suffering.

Bring on the tissues!

This book is reall really sad, but very very well written. In it, Mary Anne must deal with the death of a new friend, Amelia Freeman. When she hears the news, she thinks that her life is very scary. But there's this problem with Mary Anne--she wants to make sure everyone knows about Amelia. But How?
