Surprisingly Great!

I’ve avoided this series for the longest time thinking it was a joke. After reading the first issue at the end of the Secret Wars Marvel Zombie Arc, I was hooked. Not at all what I expected. Visually stunning with surprisingly great story.

finger lickin' good

Love the idea of ravenous zombiefied heroes who must struggle with their cannibalistic needs and lose.

Marvel Zombies

Bought this comic for a friend adn he seemed to REALLY enjoy it. Arrived very quickly.

An impulse purchase

I saw the title and decided to pick it up as a joke. It was different seeing the Marvel heroes and villains as flesh hungry zombies. It started with a flash in the sky, a rumble through the clouds and the hunger followed. Now the heroes prey on those they used to protect. After just about eating the planet they ponder what to do? Magneto finds himself yet again as fighting the forces of oppression or in this case predation. Will he succeed? The Silver Surfer arrives. Will he be a foreign delicacy? Will his master be the main course? Overall it was a fun little side track to the Marvel Universe. I liked how many of the characters still managed to keep some of their personalities even though they were monsters. I thought it was also interesting that the females managed to stay largely intact while their male counterparts were falling apart. I also liked seeing the zombiefied versions of old covers of the past. I think I will check out the sequel.

Amazing

I just recieved this a few days ago, and I'm very pleased with my purchase. I never got a chance to read the actual comics...being that I live in a one horse town where there is no chance of ever having a comic book store. So that being said....please forgive me my comic brothers for only being familiar with this graphic novel? I was very suprised at how well the writers transfered our favorite hero's into super monsters and yet still retained some or more of thier former personality. The way Spiderman still had his wit...and his guilt for things he had done. The art was outstanding too. The way the heros where destroyed versions of thier former selves, and the villians hadn't really changed all the much....notice the hobgoblin who looked no different. Magnetos character was played out perfectly, it was amazing how he still had his elitist personality right up until his end. It's exactly how I would have expected him to go out. I would definately recommend this title to anyone who loves comics/horror and may be looking for something a little different. Also, if you haven't already, make sure you check out the Walking Dead series, also by Robert Kirkman. I've never been a fan of the Fantastic Four, but intend to start the Ultimate Fantastic Four series just to see how all this started as well as the Exiles #85-86 concerning the Zombie Wolverine crossover.
