Math Made Easy: Fourth Grade

I thought this book would be flimsy and thin, like most math workbooks I have used. However, it is of very high quality. The cover is sturdy and glossy, and the binding is very strong. The pages are smooth and thick. The book is also worth its price: there are 156 colorful pages for children to actually work on, plus some pages at the back with explanations and answers. I love that there are a significant amount of word problems which incorporate the superheroes in the book. I purchased this book for a student who loves certain superheroes and villains more than others. From looking at the listing I couldn't tell which superheroes this book actually included. Now that I have the book in hand, I'm very pleased to see that it contains a wide variety of Marvel characters, including the ones I was looking for. (I was originally looking for a Spider-man math book, but couldn't find one that addressed anything above addition and subtraction skills. However, Spider-man is definitely in this book, along with many of the villains he battles.)

My 10 year old daughter needed to do some catching up in math and this book was very helpful in getting her back on track. The drawings of comic book characters often have funny word balloons, and there is a small sticker for each page you complete, giving a small incentive to keep plugging away at it. The math subjects and problems were well organized and each had sample problems with answers. The answers to the remainder of the problems are in the back. The overall look of the book is very nice, it has a great visual style. Overall I was very happy with the book.

This book is great in terms of its colorful pictures and its level of content. However if you are looking to make copies/blacklines of the pages then you will have to resize them as the book is not a standard paper size. Also, because of the shading of the answer boxes and the colors of the pictures the copies probably will not come out as good as one would hope (I haven't officially tried it at this point in time). *Once you see the book you will probably not want to mark in it (especially if you have more than one kid or are a teacher). Having said that, I still would recommend this book as long as the other levels in the marvel/dc math series. Pictures are awesome :)

Marvel Heroes: Fourth Grade (Math Made Easy) Honestly I had to tell my 4th grader to stop and rest his eyes from working in the book. He loves it. The pictures of the heroes are comic style, not cartoonish, he couldn't believe they included Venom and Carnage. He wanted to work on the math page with Carnage first. Also there are stickers in the first page which the student can use to help him keep track of how many pages he's completed. These are the same kind of problems he's working on in class.
