I don't even know the original title of the story I read. It must be something like "A Feast of Reality", but I'm not so sure. I just read the German translation that appeared in the 1998 reader of the Börsenverein des Deutschen Buchhandels. It felt like the male protagonist of the story, Julian, was me... I have never read such an intense description of the kind of people I feel I belong to. It was a depressing and moving read. I don't know about the rest of the book, but if it's all like that, I definitely recommend it to everyone, especially to the losers among us men, especially to men like me.
