Marriage Most Scandalous

This was my first novel by Johanna Lindsey and I thought it was awesome reading. I thought the book had a great mix of passion, intrigue, and scandal as suggested on the cover. The sexual tension between the main characters was done well and the plot/ending made total sense to me. Just enough description of the characters was provided for the reader to get a vivid, yet personalized image of them while reading. I finished the book in 48 hours and definitely look forward to reading another JL novel!

Wow - I just came to this page and was shocked at all of the bad reviews for this book. I absolutely loved this book. It was one of the best books I have read recently. It kept me interested the whole way through with no missteps! Yes, perhaps the plot was a little complicated but not for the times. This is often how things happened back in those days. Very often parents would disinherit a child for some foolish reason and after a duel it was quite common for a son to escape to the contienent and feel imbittered against his family. I do not find anything about the plot a stretch at all. What I did find was a really interesting man Sebastian who was very dark in some ways but had just enough of a pithiness to him to make me just want to melt all over the page for him. He was so damn sexy! If I would have been Maggie I would have never even made it through the first nite in that bedroom. This was a great family tragedy that finally came together in a wonderful way -I thought it was an excellent Lindsey book and really strongly recommend it to everyone!!

This was a fab read from start to finish. Sebastian was a great hero so mean and moody and so dangerous, fighting his longing to be back with his family and margaret wasn,t the least bit intimidated as she tried to bring him back to the fold. They sparked off eachother all the way through what was a great story. I loved the arguments between them and certainly the passion they both tried to fight.This put me in mind of the malorys which are my all time favourites so please keep it up johanna

Well, I really don't understand all the fuss some readers made about the "authenticity" of the story. It's fiction for crying out loud! Marriage Most Scandalous had an interesting story, it grabbed me from the start, saucy characters, and great plot twists. Several times I exclaimed out loud! Glad I was by myself. It is a fun, escape from reality read. I read it in a couple of days and enjoyed it thoroughly. Hey, part of the reason we read the novels is to escape, so what if some of it stretched the bounds of reality at times. I enjoyed the characters, loved the story, giggled at the surprises.

I very much enjoyed this story by Johanna Lindsey. I have all of her books and have read many of them more than once. This book was enjoyable because it has some very interesting plot twists and the main characters were typical Johanna Lindsey. They interacted well and have a sense of humor. If you have read other of her books and liked them you will really enjoy this one also. This story is not related to any of her other books. She often has continuing stories, this is not one.
