Marriage Make Up

This was a really well-done story of a middle-aged couple who divorced when the father of Abbie's unborn child accused her of fooling around on him. He supposedly couldn't have kids; won't ruin the book by telling you why he was under that impression. Sam should have given her the benefit of the doubt, since Abbie came to him innocent and only had eyes for him. Whatever, they had to have some tension and this was as good a reason as any. And woooo-eeee, do the sparks fly! She really hates this guy's guts. But you know what they say about a thin line between love and hate. I got kind of tired of Cathy, their daughter who wanted her father to attend her wedding, coming down so hard on her mother all the time. That, too, was resolved in the end. The love scenes are pretty hot for a Harlequin Presents, so the chemistry between this couple is pretty believable. Their conversations just crackle off the page. I like the fact that Abbie is not the doormat she was when she and Sam were first married. He likes that too and has never gotten over his ex-wife. She was a real man-hater because of his betrayal, so there's no one standing between their reconciliation. Pretty believable and quite engrossing.
