Margot Elise Robbie was born on July 2, 1990, in Dalby, Queensland, Australia, to Doug Robbie, a former farm owner and sugarcane tycoon, and Sarie Kessler, a physiotherapist. She is the second youngest of four siblings, with two older siblings, Anya and Lachlan, and a younger brother, Cameron. Her parents separated when she was five years old, and she, along with her siblings, was raised by her single mother. The family spent most of Margot's upbringing on her grandparents' farm in the Gold Coast hinterland.From a young age, Margot was energetic and creative, often putting on shows in her house. Her mother enrolled her in a circus school, where she excelled in trapeze and received a certificate at the age of eight. In high school, she studied drama at Somerset College.
