Relentless and fantastic!

Jeff Stewart has created a fantastic vehicle of truth and grit, naked and un-apologetic with March of Time and Skin. Spanning about a decade of early adulthood, we follow him through revelation and discovery of not only his roots, but himself as he makes his way through a life that is relentless, cold and unforgiving. His world becomes palatable and vivid despite his stripped down style of direct, to-the-point writing. We taste the ancient dry dust of the desert, the ice cold salty air of the Bearing Sea, the venom of spite in betrayal and the bitter metallic after-taste of endurance. Rapid are the turn of events, honesty is the taproot of his character, encompassing is his story and marvelous is the March of Time and Skin. It does not disappoint.

What a fantastic read. This 250 plus pager is jam packed with vivid imagery and examines a story most readers would never imagine experiencing for real. Every page is packed with the experience of a long and traveled road. Well mixed story of potential life's experiences and a look at a life on some interesting terms. As someone who wishes he could read more often, I had a difficult time putting this book down. Most nights I only stopped reading to sleep. A must have for any collection, and one that I am putting into my shared book rotation! [...]

Gritty, personal account of the road.

Let me just say that the opening of this book will hook you. I blasted through this book pretty fast because I was completely engrossed. If you have ever wanted to travel the country by the seat of your pants, this book might make you change your mind. The book is written from the main character's perspective throughout. Stewert doesn't get "wordy" or try to veer from the descriptions he presents. Just straight forward narration and great description. It's not for children or the faint of heart.
