Excellent Read

As an AX consultant I have used this book on numerous occasions as a quick refresher on functionality or to gain high level insight into new functional areas. It is well written and very comprehensive without being too techncal. It would provide a newbie with excellent overview and provides wonderful nuggets of information for the more experienced AX profssional. I highly recommend this book to anyone whio finds themselves using or implementing AX.

Very good on the basics

My background is Microsoft Dynamics GP and Siebel CRM and I have seen a lot of interest in Dynamcis AX. I have no experience in a mfg environment and learned a lot about the basic principles of ERP and the MFG process from the book. I bought the book to see what Dynamcis AX is all about. Reading the book gives you the basic concepts of a Mfg ERP system as well as the key concepts and terminology specific to Dynamics AX. I feel like if you are new to Dynamics AX the book is a great overview as it teaches you the rules based logic in simple terms. I wish the book had a section on the GL transactions and GL flow (WIP/Cost movement) involved in each step as I beleive this is a very important aspect of any financial system. Excellent Handbook for Dynamics AX

This is a must have book for any company or consultant wishing to use Dynamics AX to control their supply chain. This will not teach you everything about Dynamics AX. It will supplement and expand the theory gain from existing training material. This will help you turn the theory into a practical ERP solution.

Great book

This is a great book. It is very well written and meets the objectives of three different groups - prospective users, current users, and consultants - so they can derive great value. I have done lot of training in Dynamics Ax and often times I find users finding it difficult to come to terms with some of the fundamental concepts. This book does a great job of thoroughly explaining some of the most difficult concepts with right level of content. Another area that I found could be beneficial was the case studies. They allow a reader to picture the material just read in a real life situation which goes a step further than most books or product help. Overall a great book and a handy reference.
