I found this book really helpfull. You can read it and it has some excercises that are helpfull. You can almost immediately feel a SLIGHT improvement after reading the relevant chapters

This is a classic work, one that I have heard referred to as the only "perfect" book in psychotherapy. Regardless of your sexual experience, your level of sexual satisfaction, or your sexual functioning, this book will enlighten you as to the damaging myths that men unconsciously absorb throughout their lives. If you do have lower levels of sexual satisfaction or functioning, this book provides enormously helpful exercises and advice. One of the most powerful chapters explains the origins and impact of the sexual myths that most of us are captive to. I'll list a few briefly here just to give you a flavor of the book's approach and emphasis. "In sex, as elsewhere, it's performance that counts; the man must take charge of and orchestrate sex; a man always wants and is ready to have sex; sex equals intercourse; sex requires an erection; good sex is a linear progression of increasing excitement terminated only by orgasm; in this enlightened age, the preceding myths no longer have any impact on us." To illustrate the pervasiveness of these myths, Silbergeld quotes liberally from literature and film. (Henry Miller in particular comes off looking rather silly.) In my sincere and deeply felt opinion--I know it sounds trite--all men should read this book.

This review is based on the 1978, Third Printing version. Some of the subject matter and chapters thereof may need some updating, however it is still a good read. On Not Lasting Long Enough, Starting To Develop Ejaculatory Control, Lasting Longer With A Partner, Erection Problems, or why the damn thing won't act like it should, Resolving Erection Problems I, Resolving Erection Problems II, Male Sexuality and the Aging Process, Male Sexuality and Medical Conditions, The Uses of Sex and Sex Problems, Sex and Liberation. There is a wonderful index to help you find a word and look up something specific.

As a woman who is searching for the man of her dreams, I ran across this book, in a used bookstore, last week. I was stunned by how I have played into, and been held back by the 10 myths.I was reading page 88 of this book, while sitting in a coffee shop, and even though the male sitting across the table from me was a stranger, I just had to ask him to read "The Letter From Your Penis" exercise. Luckily, he is a resident. We had a great conversation, which ended with his walking away, and into the bookstore, next door. This book affirmed my right to ask for and get what I want. I used this book to think back on past relationships, who I was, who he was, and what mattered then. Many of the exercises were easy for me to turn into being exercises about my own sexuality, my childhood programming, and what it means to be a great lover to the man of my dream. And, although I am not in a relationship right now, I am so grateful that reading this book, has enhanced what I will ask for, expect and get, in a man, long before either of us are off our feet.

Just when I thought MALE SEXUALITY could not get better, it did! This revised edition is a must have for both men and women who want to both learn more about their sexuality and enhance it. Bernie writes clearly, factually, compassionately, and without judgement. His book informs, gives permission, and is helpful in understanding what happens when things are not the way you'd like, sexually. He provides excersises that support insight, and information that allows growth. This book is a standard, and should be in anyone's library who is at all curious about their own sexuality and their sexual relationship. I recommend this book for both men and women. It promotes conversation and learning between partners, and provides accurate information.
