I bought this book at my sixth grade book fair at my school. It was my first introduction to HTML and web design, and I've been constantly designing websites ever since. The book is fun to read and is easy to follow, and within a week I had a website already created that had my personal picture, my personal biography, and my favorite links. I showed it to my teacher at school and impressed her quite a bit :) Now I'm building websites constantly (...). I highly, highly recommend this book for kids and adults alike!
Even a grown-up can learn from this book!

This book was very readable and easy to understand. Even though I am a beginner at this, it provided me with enough information to build my own web page. It is written in a conversational style with charts of useful code and many examples of how a page in progress would look. Index and glossary. Good book for both PC and Mac users.
Absolutely the best!

My 10 yr old ordered this book through his school and was able to build his own web-site in less than a week. Absolutely fantastic! I had been trying to teach him HTML and web-page design for quite a while and was getting nowhere. This book accomplished that effortlessly. It presents step by step instructions (and manages to keep the content interesting and engaging all the time). The book is easy to read with plenty of useful examples and insight. There should be follow-ons for this book - leading to advanced HTML (and related) techniques for designing and implementing web pages.
An excellent and pleasurable how-to book.

As a graphic arts professor I found this book particularly good as a teaching and a learning tool. It is excellently planned with comfortable but insightful illustrations that take the anxiety out of building your own web page. This simplified approach should indeed be used for how-to books on other computer graphics like Photoshop, Illustrator and Quark. Thanks much to the authors.
