The Return of Mokona

In the second cycle of the MKR series Mokona returns...mwahahahahaha!!!! Puuuu? If you haven't yet finished the first series, try not to read the reviews as they will give away some surprises from the first series. To get down to the first book in the series. It's excellent; even better than the first arc. There is less fun and jokes and more serious, thoughtful moments. Hikaru, Umi and Fuu have been summoned once again to Cephiro-but this time no knows who summoned them! Enemies are invading Cephiro, and they want to take it over and become it's pillar. Eagle Vision, Lady Aska and the twins, Tarta and Tatra all have their eyes on Cephiro, the land where will controls everything. In this series, the artwork is better and so is the story. The characters have more depth, and there are lots of flashbacks, so Princess Emeraude still plays a large roll in the story, and appears every few pages (which is good because I really love her; she's so cute). Umi and Hikaru both meet potential love interests-really surprising ones, in fact and we re-meet all the characters from the last series, even the bad guys-who are good now. =^-^= We get to see a lot of Clef, who is so cute (and since he and Presea are the only ones without any love interest, I think they should hook up; they'd look cute together, but Clef would have to grow a few feet) and a strange new character Lantis, and his obsessed fairy. You even get to see Hikaru with her hair down and not in a braid!!! (And if that doesn't get you to buy the book...) As usual, the translation, quality and artwork were great, with only one problem; the sound effects were not translated. In the first series, the sound effects (which are part of the drawings themselves) were covered with big, bold fonts, or regular, depending on the size and shape; sometimes there was a small translation on the side of the big symbols. However, this time around, nothing was translated, and though it's not a big deal, it seems sort of lazy to me. However, I have learned Katakana and Hiragana to some extent and got a translation guide to sound effects from the net, but evenso...sigh And, of course, Mokona returned!! And she almost gets eaten by Umi after her appearance, poor marshmallow. She also talks in her sleep...whatever. This series rocks, and you also get to see the girls family; Umi's parents, Fuu's sister and Hikaru's three cute, overprotective brothers. =^-^= Buy it now!!!

Great "Second Season" of Rayearth manga!

The first three books of Rayearth were very good in their story arc, but a bit predictable. This 4th book kicks off another arc of story - and what a great arc it is! This second part delves much more into the three girls' psyches, especially Hikaru's. Not only that, but we're introduced to several great new characters that seem to appear fully fleshed-out and ready for action. The way two of the male characters react to each other and Hikaru is especially interesting - they can see her potential.I definitely recommend books 4 - 6, especially if you were disappointed with the sad ending of book 3. This new arc, I have to tell you, does end on a happy note. Quite an INTERESTING note, too, I might add. There are lots of twists and turns, plus some hints of romance, so if you're looking for adventure, slight romance, and intelligent story, you've come to the right manga book. :)Oh yeah, and you get to see Mokona again. What more could you ask for?

*hugs book in happiness*

MKR #4 is WONDERFUL! I couldn't put it down! All the possible love intrests! *love is in the air, every where I look around..* Cephiro is dying as the girls are sent back to the world as people from other worls journey to become the new pillor of Cephiro. Will the girls let them come through? And who is this new man who saved them and why does everyone in Cephiro hate him? What secret is Ferio hidding and what about Ascot?! If you have read the first three in the series you need to get yourself this book. Don't let yourself think MKR ended so suddenly and sadly like that. ~.^

...magic knight rayearth

I am a big fan of the japanese comics(manga)...and of all the books i have read none have ever touched me so deeply as this book has done. I give the whole series 5 stars. The story in the 3rd book, did a 180 on me. The opposite of what i was expecting happened, which i found very appealing. I love the very detailed drawings,...which really show the characters emotions. A combination of the story line and drawings, is what really got me. I have never cried before when reading a book let alone a comic. I can honestly say that magic knight rayearth has become my new favorite manga. I strongly suggest you read this. It also has humor in it which I find most appealing. I know as you read this you're probably thinking yeah i've heard it all before...so i don't want to ramble on. Please,...read these books they're soooo good. I am making all my friends read it. Fortunately, i won't have to force them...because I know they will love reading it. DEFINETELY WORTH YOUR TIME! ...I love CLAMP!

Magic Knight Rayearth: Good for the Mankind!

Magic Knight Rayearth. The story starts with a GREAT title. This art, no this world is just perfect! The Artwork express the autor's feelings, the action and the sequencial-scenes are in perfect organization and in "exact-hour". You just can't put or retire ANY of the scenes. They're perfect, they're in perfect size and in perfect dose. The Characters, they are just outrageous (hehehe). To say the truth, I've never seen characters so cool, pretty, dark, "cowaii" and cute like these. Hikaru, Umi and Fuu are the "perfect girls" and the vilions aren't all bad (I'm saying that in the their manner), they have their own feelings and their quest aren't always "bad, kill and destroy". You will NEVER imagine the final, the middle or the begging. Sometimes, you'll like the Villions. Like Zagato in the first Rayearth-wave.CLAMP deserves an Oscar, no a Nobel Premium!Artwork: 5 Characters: 5 Action: 5 Scenes Sequence: 5 Translation: 2 (Poor Mixx, GET BETTER OR....) Overall: 5I tell you, if you like some fantasy, or just some good history, no matter your preference, buy this, buy all 6 Rayearth Mangas! You'll be pleased.-zeo
