Good, But Not One of the Best

Mad Libs are a popular word game that uses parts of speech to create crazy stories. The game can be played with as few as two people and as many as forty (though the most I've played it with is 32). Mad Libs books are especially popular with pre-teens and middle school students. This version of the series doesn't really have a theme and uses all kinds of settings and situations. Some selections of this particular version of the game include: nursery rhymes, a visit to the dentist, the Oscars, cultural stuff, instructions for the babysitter, coffeehouses, and next door neighbors. Some of the Mad Libs selections in MAD, MAD, MAD, MAD, MAD LIBS have appeared in other Mad Libs, e.g. the Oscars. I highly recommend this book for pre-teens and middle school students who are looking for a fun game to play and for language arts teachers of that age-group of students to use as a game with their students. Also recommended for families with children as a game to play on long car trips.

Educational Tool and Time Killer on Family Trip

Mad Libs have many uses: to teach parts of speech to students, to kill time on family vacations, as a bedtime treat with your children, as a reward activity in the elmentary classroom, to make yourself giggle, to make your friends giggle, to make strangers on the airplane giggle, etc. I love them. Always have. Lucy Adams, author of If Mama Don't Laugh, It Ain't Funny

a true classic!

I laughed, I cried! It was better than Cats! I want to mad lib again, and again!
