A woman seeking solace after the sudden death of her child flees her marriage for Florida where, in her grief, she will walk off with another woman's infant son. A first novel. This description may be from another edition of this product.
This book was essentially a masterpiece in revealing the human experience. Albanese allows us to understand how we are each shaped by the early losses in our lives--and how those losses affect the choices we make as adults and who we become in relationships, as well as our reactions to later trauma. The depth of her insights was profound and compelling. And by the way, my heart breaks for anyone who finds breast feeding disgusting.

This book was wonderful. A great read for a rainy evening or a day at the beach.

Whoever it was that said the breastfeeding part of the book disgusted them is so ignorant, and I feel sorry for such a narrow minded person. This was an outstanding book. I loved the way you could see into the mind of Lynelle and her horrible sorrow and I applaud the ending! It was well written and anyone(even someone without children)should be able to read this book and FEEL the love and bonds between a mother and her child. And I'm sorry for all the narrow-minded people out there, but the breastfeeding parts added greatly to the intimacy of the book! I can't wait for another book from this wonderful new author.

I was drawn in to both women's stories and felt sympathy for both, which is an amazing achievement. Mothers especially will love this book.
Delightful, Original, Entertaining & Exciting

I loved this book for 3 reasons. 1) something actually happens (something compelling). I am SO sick of the many books out there, where nothing happens except the main character grows to self realization, trying on bad men along the way until a great man comes...blah, blah, blah. (Girls Guide to Hunting.. & Bridgette's Diary....for expample)2) You see an astounding event from 2 opposite points of view. You actually have sympathy & root for someone who has done something horrible.3) The words taking you along the way of the story are original & delightful.
