As an introduction to philosophy, it would be difficult to find a superior title. This makes an excellent addition to the libarary of philsophy students of all levels. The most important parts of each philosopher's work are given and then explained by Kolak in simple terms with clear examples. For the novice this provides a good introduction. For the more advanced student, a great reference.
