Not Like New

Book has a big divot right down the front cover. Also has writing inside. Description said like new. That was not the case. Now I will have to go buy it brand new somewhere else as this can't be given as a gift as intended.

Good book to read, but mine arrived extremely damaged

Do not trust them with the descriptions. They said the book I chose was in very good condition but came with water damage and bent on every single page. I will probably not use this site anymore

A Forever Classic

As a Canadian, this was a classic when I was a child and had the opportunity to meet the author Robert Munsch when he came to our school to read this along with Paperbag Princess some 30 yrs ago. This has forever been a classic for me instead of a card along with baby shower gifts.

Disappointed

I loved this book when I was little and wanted to share it with the little ones in my family. I bought a copy that was described as "like new". The pages are glued together, torn, the illustrations ripped from their page and stuck to the one before it; one of pages has a corner torn clear off and had holes in the page.

The beginning is good but……

This book started out well. But I have to say it got weird! A woman rocking her teenager and then going to her son’s house to rock him? Not only unbelievable but also….odd. ? I received this as a gift and actually won’t be reading it to any of my kids. There are lots of other books out there!

Absolutely beautiful book.

I wish people would take this kind of story to heart instead of being so cruel to each other. I first read this when I was very young and was so touched by it but couldn't understand why people could be so mean. Tenderness is ALWAYS more fun than meanness and cruelety.

This book is weird

This book was strange..won’t be keeping it

I love this story.

This is a very sweet story I love it so much but I was very disappointed to find a while page was ripped out

I Love You Forever---Robert Munsch (I'll "Love This Book Forever!")

This is a beautiful book--a simple book about love that is so important for children to hear. Even though we tell our children we love them and try to spend as much time with them as possible, days fly by and you know you could have done better by them somehow! But at least by reading them a book at the end of the day, it helped us to bond even more and to tell them AGAIN how much they are loved! I have two sons and when they were little, I read to them every night. The three of us had some rough few years, but there was always a strong bond even after they left home. One Mother's day, both sons came to see me and my present was the book "I Love You Forever" Oh, the sentiment that was written inside was so beautiful, so loving and so tear -inducing! Yeah, that brought me to tears-in a good way. I told them that this is a gift ANY mother would love---what joy! Best gift I've EVER received in my life. "I Love You Forever" is a keeper--children really can relate to it!

My first favorite book!

This book means a lot to me. When I was very young, and I mean very very young, my mother would wrap me up in her arms, and rock me as she read me this book. As I grew up it became our book. Whenever I was ever having a bad day, I would go to my mom, as one does, and she’d hold me, and recited the words, I’ll love you forever, I’ll like you for always, as long as I’m living my baby you’ll be. And no matter what was wrong, I always feel better. I will always love this book. As long as I’m living.

I would like a refund. Book listed as Like New came with many pages scribbled on.

I would like a refund. Book listed as Like New came with many pages scribbled on. Someone even wrote a dedication to someone on the front page and multiple pages have crayon scribbled all over the pages to where you can't read the pages :(

Would have been great if it's not missing pages.

This book was read to the kids in one of the online classes my kid attended. She loves it so I decided to get her the book thinking that it would add to our bedtime book collection. Sadly, the book came with 4 pages missing and both of us are pretty upset about it.

A very sweet book.

We love this book so much. The story behind this very sweet book, just makes it even better. I loved this book as a child and now I get to share it with my son.

Not "Like New:

This book came bent and with writing on the back "to so and so, cute message, love so and so". I wasn't so worried about it being bent; it would likely get bent with use at our house anyway. However, I'm annoyed it was sold as "like new" and feel kind of weird buying this for my son with writing to someone else on it.

It's So Real !!

I read this book at the library I work at and it just tugged at my heart. I have three grown sons and each growing experience told in this book was so much like an experience that one or all three of my boys brought to me. It brought tears to my eyes. I love this book. At first I was going to give it as a present, but I've decided to keep it for a while and enjoy it over and over again.

Without pages

I had purchased this book as a gift it is missing four pages. It was sold as very good !

My Favorite Gift For New Babies

As a former PBS Ready to Learn specialist, I recognize how important it is to read, sing and talk to your babies, toddlers and school-age children. This is such an amazing book that touches the hearts of families all over the world. The message is universal and the pictures are very well done. Fondly, Judy Helm Wright--Author--PetParent--IntuitiveWiseWoman

A must for new Moms

This is the most touching book I ever read to my children. My son is 28 this year and I still tear up reading this book to his children. It is a story of unselfish, everlasting Mother's love.

got this from my son years ago for mothers day.loved it,so sweet I cried.

A Remarkable Concept for a Child

This picture book for young children deals with a unique subject matter, the aging of a mother who is loving and devoted. The story begins with a mother and her newborn infant and shares a refrain in which she sings "Love You Forever......etc...." It moves through his various stages of life, including adulthood when he moves away. At the end when she is elderly and ill, we see him rocking her in his arms the way she has done with him over the years and singing the love you forever refrain. It helps children to understand the importance of enduring love as well as the life cycle of a parent.

Must Read for all Children

My friend had this book. After I read it I knew I had to purchase two to give to my children. In the back I attached an "Invoice" - and charged N/C for such things as skinned knees, bandaids, nights up with sick children, etc.; I made the invoices very specific from their lives. I took it with me the next time I went to visit them and read it to them aloud. It is important to me that my children know just how much I love them and this book says it well. A precious story -

Guaranteed to make you cry!

I had never heard of this story until the last semester of Nursing school when one of our instructors took it out and read it to us. She said she did it for every graduating class because it reminds her of us/them. I cried through the whole thing. I'm not a mother, but I am an aunt and daughter and this gets to me every single time. Everyone should read it at least once or buy it for someone they love.

A Beautiful, Touching Parable

This little classic is readily and easily digested by one who has known the true love of a mother. My mother gave me this book during the first Christmas with my new baby daughter in 1992. I had no idea that within the year, my father would be gone, and I would begin to give tender care to my precious little mother who would begin "getting very sick" much like the mother in the book. I cried a bucket of tears as I read it aloud with my wife, mother and father for the very first time. When my mom passed on, it was a tender and precious time at her bedside, and very reminiscent of this tender little book. Today, my two girls go for it regularly on my shelf at bedtime. They tease me because I can't get through it without crying. Funny to me that they have a very good grasp of allegory and they, unlike some of the book's critics, understand that the scenes with the mother coming to the man's apartment are actually his memories of her love. They understand, as I explain to them that the love poured into the son by his mother, has taught him how to love his new baby daughter at the end. Love begets love, and this little childrens' parable is a powerful reminder! I highly recommend _Love You Forever_ to anyone who enjoyed a wonderful love with their mother. To others, I'm sorry but you simply won't (and obviously don't) understand. It's not written for you.

A great book for your kids or your mom

This is another one of those books I can't read without having to dab at my eyes. Any loving parent, or child of a loving parent, will recognize the overwhelming love the mother in this story feels for her son. When her son is a newborn, she rocks him and sings to him, "I'll love you forever, I'll like you for always, As long as I'm living my baby you'll be." When he's asleep, she rocks him and sings him that song through each stage of his childhood. When he's a grown man with his own home, she drives over to his house with a ladder, makes sure he is fast asleep, climbs through his bedroom window, then rocks him and sings to him (my husband thinks this is a little strange, but I'm convinced that there are plenty of mothers out there who would do the same if they thought they could get away with it). The tears come when the mother gets sick, and can't finish the song. Her son then holds her in his lap, rocks her, and sings to her. Then he goes home, picks up his newborn daughter, and sings. The illustrations are a beautiful complement to the story. Not only does the son grow up, but the mother slowly grows older. Her house keeps its old-fashioned look, even down to the rotary phone on her bedside; his house is more modern, with up-to-date kitchen appliances. The mother has a striped cat that appears in several illustrations of the boy growing up. In his house, there is a kitten, that grows into a cat, that turns into a rather large, well-fed cat by the end of the story. Not only am I sharing this book with my kids, but I gave my mom a copy for Mother's Day.
