Love Finds You in Charm, Ohio

Emma Miller teaches school in her Amish community in Indiana, and she is courted by Jacob, a man everyone always figured she'd marry. But Emma isn't happy. She dreams of red corvettes, and English clothes, and more adventure. So when she gets a letter from a relative in Charm, Ohio, offering her a job helping with the quilt shop and with Lydia's small children, Emma is quick to agree. Emma settles into her new community with ease, making friends with an English girl who is also in Charm for the summer, working in the book mobile. Kelly introduces Emma to her English boyfriend and his friend, Andy, and Emma gets a taste of the English world she's always longed for. But there is an Amish man in Charm who has also captured Emma's eye. He is Lydia's husband's relative, and he is quick to offer to show Emma around. Noah and Emma hit it off, but Emma is torn. Should she return home to Indiana, join the English world, or pray for the best in Charm? LOVE FINDS YOU IN CHARM, OHIO, is the first book I've read by Ms. Daughety, but the back cover says she has four books that released in 2009. I'm going to check to see what they are as soon as I finish writing this review. Emma is a realistic character, and part of the story is also written in Kelly's point of view as well as Emma's sister's Abby's point of view, so I got to know all three of these women very well. I thought this book was a very sweet romance, a totally delightful Amish story. Readers will not be disappointed.

Love It When A Book Captures Me From The Begining And Holds Me Until The Last Page

Love Finds You In Charm,Ohio was one of those books. Living near the largest Amish community in the US,I have an interest in the Amish and have read many books fiction and nonfiction about them. This was a great story and I loved the struggle it showed for an Amish girl who dreamed of driving a red convertible and cutting and frosting her hair like she had seen in a magazine. She gets a chance to spread her wings more when she gets the opportunity to stay the summer with her cousin in Charm,Ohio. I thought the entire situation was handled so beautifully in this book. One of the best Amish-themed romances I have ever read! Highly recommended.

love finds you in charm

I have only just started to read Amish stories and cannot get enough of them. What you reead is what you get there is no guessing and even though there lives seem very simple I find them very fascinating.

Great book which hooks you and holds you to the end

A wonderful look at all that pulls and tugs at the heart of a young girl growing up in an Amish family. The values expressed can relate to young women who are not Amish, but who are learning that life is not about a lot of action and excitement, but about warm family love and encouragement. The characters are well drawn and real. Mistakes are made, but the girls learn that they can be overcome with openness and honesty and making the right choices.

Loved it!

I thought this book was very interesting. It was an easy and light read that I enjoyed very much. I felt like the characters were people who I could identify with. The plot lines were easy to follow without being overly complex. I don't normally read Christian fiction, but I didn't feel like the religious nature of the story overshadowed the plot. It was more of a coming of age story to me with a strong moral plot, but not overly "preachy". I would highly recommend this book.
