The Lost Books of Merlyn: Druid Magic from the Age of Arthur

Become an active participant in three mythological stories, restored for today's reader from a rare 16th-century Druid text. A grimoire follows each story with instructions on how to reenact the lessons and replicate the rituals. These grimoires are the next best thing to viewing a magician's personal Book of Shadows, which contains knowledge specially reserved for a chosen apprentice.

Some folks just dont get it.

Some folks just dont get it. Monroe brings back the sense of mystery. You read the book and BANG. You put it down and go OUTSIDE.... Wonderful.....

Good, as was the 21 Lessons

I have been studying Druidism for 4 years now and must claim this, as well as the 21 Lessons of Merlyn, to be the most intellectually stimulating book on the subject. Most books will provide you with few facts and practices for you to try out, not only are you presented with all this in the text of the Lost Books, but is as well entertaining to read. And to those to call this book sexist, remember that this grand age of equality hasn't always existed and it is more than likely that men were the main members of the order. And as to those that will argue the validity of the text on which this book is based, even if it is based on a forged text it still provides a valid path. I say the sooner we realize that any druid path may be valid, seeing how druidism died out with the coming of the Christian era leaving us with very little text to remember it by, the sooner the ignorant fighting over validity may end, for surely all of the paths of today provide us with at least a piece of validity if nothing more.

EQUALLY AS GOOD AS HIS FIRST BOOK- 21 LESSONS OF MERLYN!

As a practitioner of the Arts for over a decade I give this work 2 thumbs up. For the uninitiated individual who claims Mr. Monroe "stole" the Charm of Making from the movie Excalibur I can only say one thing... Don't knock it till you try it! Hollywood very often uses historians to research details for the use in their films. This most definatly was the case here. I personally have used this "Charm" with suprising results! For anyone interested in authentc Druidsm, rather than the crap commonly passed off as Druidism, this book is for you. I would recommend reading AND sudying his first book before getting into this one.My only peeve is the fact that Llewellyn Publications failed to list Monroe's school address in the work. They did this in his first book as well.

A worthy secsesor to an outstanding book

Douglas Monroe has done it again. This book is one of the best, no greatest books I have ever read. It exseded all posible expectations I had after finding out of the books printing. It provides an incredible amount of information that any Druid , pagan, or even witch could use.

Excellent AND worthwhile!!!

This sequel of The 21 Lessons of Merlyn is a nice balance of history and highly usable and practical druidic magick. Anyone interested in Celtic magick, history, or spirituality would do good to read this wonderful book.
