An Unforgettable Tale

It begins with Rorik, a Viking warrior bent on revenge who comes to Clontarf in search of his enemy Einar. He intends to kill Einar but since he is not there, kidnaps Einar's half-sister, Mirana, instead. From the moment she comes to Hawkfell Island nothing will be the same again.Mirana is a strong and intelligent woman, who fights with as much strength and cunning as a man. She is also courageous and proud-to a fault. She does not hesitate to defy Rorik and vows to escape but at the same time finds herself befriending the women of Hawkfell Island and learning why Rorik is filled with such hostility. Rorik can be stubborn and cruel but he IS a man after all. A man who has lived with pain and hatred and takes it out on Mirana. He is not evil but a strong and naturally good man. When he meets Mirana he discovers that life is not lived if lived in hatred. Lord Of Hawkfell Island is a wonderfully written novel. Written with enough character description and feeling! To me she conveys enough emotion and life into this novel as to make it captivating. The plot is full of surprises and even a little suspense. She is one of my favorite authors and this is one of her books that I would highly recommend.Catherine Coulter knows how to write romance, she is one of the best, Period.

Great Viking romance

I always love Vikings. Ms.Coulter did a very great job. I loved all of the 3 books in her Viking trilogy. Lord of Hawkfell Island is a very entertaining read. There are exciting plots and warm sensuality. I would recommend it.

Lord of Hawkfell Island

This book is yet another enjoyable read. It's not as bad as others may think. Just like many novels, the hero (Lord Rolik) despises the heroine (Mirana) at the beginning but he unknowingly changes as the story goes. I was surprised by twists and turns til the very last pages. The secondary characters especially Entti add a lot of colors to the story. There are so many laughters. I like when Hormuze decides to dye Sira's silver-blonde hair with black color. A novel is a novel so don't think too much about reasonability and reality just enjoy it. Catherine Coulter will never disappoint you.

First in the Trilogy

The Lord of Hawkfell Island is yet another brillant novel from Catherine Coulter. The whole trilogy was excellent. No one book was better than the other. Beautifully written and researched. The love scences are as always tastefully written and very romantic. She is definitely my favorite author. I have read her books over and over again. I don't think that there is one out there that I have not read. No other Romance/Historical writer compares to her in my eyes.

Captivating reading

I have read many of Catherine Coulter's books (maybe even all), but her novels set in Viking times are her best! She paints a picture of life as it must have been in those times. Rugged, yet romantic. Great reading by a fire or on the beach
