The reader is rewarded with a deeper understanding of international turmoil, as perceived and shared by foreign correspondent Larry Johnson. His trips to Iraq are particularly illuminating, given the current circumstances. And his experience in Colombia was chilling.
So this is what foreign reporting should look like...

...now I get it. You go to the country on your own (pre-embed school of journalism), you stay for a while and find out what's really going on, and you give voice to people who are unable to speak for themselves. Nice!
