As a Former Resident of London...

This is the map that every single Londoner uses, so that should tell you something. I lived there for 4 years and my copy was dog-eared! I won't repeat what other reviewers have already said (all things true). I will only say that if you refer to it while overseas you must call it the "London A to Zed" (the last letter of the Brit alphabet is not "Zee")!

Essential Purchase

If you're going to London, as a visitor or as a resident, the purchasing of this book must appear at the top of your "to-do list". Every motorway, suburban street and lane way, tube line and station, plus hundreds of other interesting and necessary pieces of information are all there in the A-Z. You cannot survive in London without one of these. This latest edition is fantastic!

A must for any trip to London

This is a must for any trip to London whether its the first time or the tenth time. Every street in London is indexed and mapped here and not only the city centre--Hammersmith, Hampstead, Brixton etc are all here. Great for venturing out beyond the tourist spots.

A to Zed

When I lived in London 6 years ago, this was an excellent resource for me to find my way around town. I recommend it for all travellers to the city, but I believe it is updated yearly, so don't buy this older copy unless it is the last one produced. The detailed street maps can't be beat when you are trying to find an unusual address. I found it quite simple to use, and I often have trouble with geography and maps. It is well organized and some versions come in large print for those with poor eyesight, though I found the normal print version to be quite easy to read. The color coding and inclusion of tube stops make this map book indispenible.

The guide for getting around town

This is a street atlas that has proven its worth over and over down the years. The newer edition is in color and it has become slightly larger, making it easier on the eyes. The old black and white edition had its own convenience, though; it was of a slightly smaller size size that would just about fit into the pocket of a coat jacket. I hope the publishers will reconsider bringing this back, while still keeping the bigger sizes for those who would rather have them.
