Help for my Celiac disease

Awesome book on gluten free and book is in great condition.

A Godsend

This book is a Godsend. It's as simple as that. Danna Korn joins her readers by sharing personal accounts; she gives clear, well written definitions of celiac disease, wheat intolerance and gluten. There are 65 excellent recipes included that show just how possible it is to follow a gluten free lifestyle. Readers are also treated to tidbits of humor; gems of wisdom and a plethora of good information such as web sites as to where to shop for the wheat-intolerant/celiac regimen. It answers questions clearly and logically and readers come away with a good understanding of how they can live happily on a gluten free regimen. Many people with autism have shown marked improvement by following this regimin. Luke Jackson, the author of "A User Guide to the GF/CF Diet for Autism, Asperger Syndrome and AD/HD" A User Guide to the GF/CF Diet for Autism, Asperger Syndrome and AD/HD discusses how eliminating gluten and casein from his diet and those of his siblings improved their health and general performance. I can't recommend this book highly enough. It is my Get Out of Jail Free Card and my Passport to a Healthier Life and a New Lifestyle. Hats off to Danna Korn!

Living Gluten-Free for Dummies

Living Gluten-Free for Dummies is a foundation book which imparts important information with humor...something a Celiac needs. The inital impact of the diagnosis is overwhelming. LGFFD's provides the right now information the "new" Celiac needs.

A lot happier after reading this book!

With its simple "Dummies'" approach this book has definitely improved my outlook on being gluten intolerant. Fortunately this is the first "gluten-free" book I got my hands on. I'm glad I paid the overnight shipping because this book ended a lot of agony for me. "What am I going to eat!?" I've been gluten-free for 2 weeks now and the results are amazing. It's been a long time since I've been pain free (my symptoms are arthritic in nature). This book has helped me become optomistic about being able to stay gluten-free for the long-haul and still enjoy food.

The information in book IS accurate...

I hope no one gives any credence to the review that claims (inaccurately) that Danna's book has an inaccuracy. It doesn't! One reviewer wrote that Danna Korn's book had an inaccuracy because she says there's no such thing as an "allergy" to gluten, and he gave the book a bad review as a result (which, by the way, is like saying the entire restaurant is bad because you personally didn't like one item on the menu). But worse yet, this person's critique was faulty. For one thing, gluten is comprised of wheat, barley, and rye. With allergies, you either have an allergy to wheat, and/or to barley, and/or to rye. But you don't have an allergy to "gluten," even though some doctors will deem it that. Furthermore, the reviewer fails to note that Danna's book was reviewed by an M.D., Michelle Pietzak (one of the foremost experts on celiac disease) and Cynthia Rudert, R.D., of Gluten Intolerance Group -- again, one of the foremost experts. Danna doesn't make this stuff up. She's been doing research for 15 years, and has more knowledge than most medical professionals -- and I AM a medical professional. I think it's irresponsible and downright vicious for someone to make such a hasty and mean-spirited post that may prevent others from enjoying the wealth of inspiration and information. The entire essence of the book is about an optimistic approach, and the book is more well-researched and well-supported than any other out there.

Best gluten-free book

I am a dietitian and also a Celiac. I have tons of gluten-free books including from this author. This is my favorite! I am going to recommend this to all of my celiac patients. I read the whole thing through even though it is sort of like a reference book, because it was entertaining! I especially love some of her made up words like "glutenated". She made the book fun!
